Care and Maintenance of Fabrics and Leather Tino Mariani
Care and Maintenance of Fabrics and Leather Tino Mariani
All the sofas, sofa beds, and sectional sofas in our collection can be made with removable fabric, leather, or stain-resistant microfiber upholstery.
Each type of upholstery has its own technical and compositional characteristics.
Some fabrics are treated with stain-resistant coatings, making them easy to maintain. Stains can be removed without removing the covers (from the frame or cushions) by simply cleaning the affected areas with a damp cloth and water.
For other fabrics such as 100% cotton, mixed fabrics, and 100% linen, washing the covers is necessary.
Fabric and Leather Care and Maintenance for Your Sofa
Regular maintenance refers to the routine care required to keep any product in good condition.
The regular care and maintenance of a fabric-upholstered sofa or armchair can be summarized with the following tips:
- Brush the sofa fabric lightly every week to remove dust.
- Use a vacuum cleaner in hard-to-reach areas to maintain hygiene and reduce the frequency of washing.
- Avoid exposing the sofa or armchair to direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Use each seating area evenly to ensure natural wear distribution.
- Consult the upholstery’s technical data sheet or contact us for specific information before washing the covers.
How to Clean a Fabric-Upholstered Armchair or Sofa
All sofas, sofa beds, and armchairs sold by Tino Mariani, if upholstered in fabric, have fully removable covers and can be washed with water or dry-cleaned, depending on the fabric type.
Fabric Care and Maintenance for Tino Mariani Sofas and Armchairs:
- Seat and back cushions feature convenient zippers, while the sofa frame fabric is attached with Velcro.
- If pre-washing was requested at the time of order, the covers can be machine washed at 30°C without spin drying, using liquid detergents and a delicate wash cycle.
- Other fabrics, however, can only be dry-cleaned.

How to Clean a Leather Sofa or Armchair
Caring for and maintaining leather sofas and armchairs requires special attention.
- The use of chemical products such as acetone or trichloroethylene to remove stains is strongly discouraged.
- For regular leather maintenance, use a damp cloth, lukewarm water, and a small amount of neutral liquid soap.
- Gently rub the stain without applying too much pressure, then rinse with a damp cloth.
- Dry with a dry cloth to avoid streaks.
With the purchase of a leather sofa or armchair, Tino Mariani provides a leather cleaning kit containing specific products and solutions for cleaning and stain removal.
Always follow the instructions on each product.
